Traffic is a natural outcome of several development projects. Thus, in considering a development proposition, it is significant to assess possible transportation- related impacts including additional infrastructure requirements (e.g., more roads, traffic lights, toll gates), and increased traffic congestion. A transportation impact evaluation will help the community in ensuring that traffic in the community continues to flow sufficiently. When prepared in conjunction with the other evaluation components included in this guide, the transportation impact assessment will assist and ascertain the viability of additional transportation projects required to give room for development and whether there are environmental and social matters that require to be addressed if additional infrastructure is needed and/or traffic increases.
